Monaco: luxury, fancy cars, the Monte Carlo casino, Mediterranean waters, and tons of yachts.
The Port of Fontvieille
Monte-Carlo Casino
A canon near the Prince's Palace
It took about a 45 minute bus ride to
reach Monaco. The first thing my parents and I did was walk up a hill to
take a photo of the view. It was a gorgeous, sunny day and the weather
was perfect. Next thing we knew, we actually climbed up the hill to
where the Prince's Palace was located. Tons of people were gathered
around the palace to catch a glimpse of the prince. He didn't appear, so
we left and decided to take a nice, long stroll around Monte Carlo.
Along the way, I bought coconut gelato twice. Coconut gelato is the
best!
We
made our way to the Monte Carlo Casino, and everything was so fancy. It
was kind of a surreal feeling to know that I was in Monaco. The Rolex
Masters tennis tournament was also happening during our visit. I didn't
go to see any tennis matches, but I still had a fun day in Monaco. One
of the coolest things happened when we later came back to the Prince's
Palace. It was late afternoon, and the crowds were gone. Meanwhile as me
and my parents were eating gelato under a tree in front of the palace,
we saw Prince Albert at the window. He saw us looking at him, and waved
to us! We waved back in unison, and were so surprised to see him.
After all the adventure, it was time to take a bus back to Nice. A day in Monaco had ended.
What are some places you've traveled to for a day, and wish you could have stayed longer?
Sincerely, Soli
