Not too sweet like La Vie est Belle by Lancôme, and more sophisticated than Flowerbomb by Viktor & Rolf: I don't normally like sweet perfumes, but this one caught me by surprise. The face of this perfume is Cate Blanchett - who I will always remember as the ethereal Lady Galadriel from The Lord of the Rings.
I came across a sample of Si when I was at my local Nordstrom store. It was being promoted that day, and was handed out to people in little Nordstrom perfume sample containers. When I first smelled this perfume, I didn't think much of it. It smelled sweet like vanilla (but not overly sweet), and it had a hint of freshness to it - something like a berry scent. I'm not a huge fan of strong, heavy, and overly sweet vanilla scents, so this one passed the first test of not being too sweetly scented.
After a while, the scent started to grow on me, and I liked it more. The perfume settled into a very light, sweet berry, slightly floral, fresh scent - it was refreshing. I don't think that the scent is generic at all; there's something unique to it. I imagine myself fashionably dressed and walking hurriedly through an airport in an outfit that is a mix of Grace Kelly, and Kate Moss's style. I don't know why I picture that specific scene, but the perfume makes me think of an adventurous, graceful, calm, and independent lady who loves to travel the world. My first impressions of the perfume: charming, lightly sweet, berry, and fresh. The notes in this perfume are chypre, blackcurrant nectar, airy florals, and musky blond wood.

The sweet berry scent that I detected must have been the blackcurrant nectar, and I did detect some floral scents. However, I didn't really notice any musky, or woodsy notes in this perfume. Overall, I thought this perfume smelled great. I've always been picky when it comes to choosing a perfume I like, and though this smells amazing, I wouldn't say it's my signature scent.
I've wanted to find more natural brands of perfume like Lavanila, or Fresh. I haven't smelled all their perfumes, but I really like Brown Sugar by Fresh - it smells so good! I try to use more natural products, from my shampoo and conditioner to my facial moisturizer. So now I'm on the hunt to finding a signature scent - preferably one that is from a natural brand.
What are your thoughts on Si and what is your signature scent?
Sincerely, Soli
